Rise and shine, one day had passed from our 3 days trip and since Saturday (25 May 2013) is a weekend which means a lot of people should be going to those popular attractions which we had planned to go too. First thing we must do after washing up was to go for our complimentary breakfasts at ground level of the hotel.
Refresh from a day rest
Restaurant which catered for our breakfast for these 2 days.
There were quite a lot of Indians guest having their breakfast at the restaurant when we were there and it seems that they were here on business trip as most of them wearing formal attire. Anyway the staff took our coupon for breakfast and just let us free and easy for us to find and get tables for ourselves before going for the breakfast buffet. The dishes there were quite acceptable but most or all of the dishes were not warm / hot.
Rachel family had planned for a 3 days 2 nights of free and easy self driven trip over to Malacca as the one we went during our 1 day trip was not really a good experience. As I was also included to the holiday plan, I went back to her Malaysia house to stay over night on 23 May after work and we start of our holiday trip on Friday (24 May 2013) early in the morning.
We stopped along the way at a restaurant for a breakfast break as Rachel’s Father said this restaurant named “Restoran Sze Hwa (世华肉骨茶)” served good Bak Kut Teh (肉骨茶). The place itself looks quite rundown but there were quite a huge crowd of people having their breakfast fix over at this place so I thought to myself that the dishes they served should not be bad too.
Seem like those olden days coffeeshop layout with Chinese tea leaves place nicely on the shelves.
It was Tuesday (23 April 2013), both Rachel and I decided to meet together for a dinner at Raffles City beside City hall MRT station. Walking around for some windows shopping around the place looking for some stuff for our important event.
My ex-Swiber colleagues and XB brother had earlier arrange for a dinner session after my Taiwan holiday trip and decided it to be on Friday (29 March 2013). So after my office work, I proceed to go to Bukit Batok where we meet up at West Mall Shopping mall. I had previously made a reservation for table at Mayim but nearly unable to make any reservation as their minimum number of people before they allow reservation were at 6 people.
I was thinking what the hell are they thinking that we cannot make reservation with less people. Anyway, just to fulfill their requirement, I said got 6 people (We had 5 people in total) and made a reservation which was a standard timing of starting time 7:30pm (Do not understand why even timing, they also need to control). As we reached (Around 7pm) the restaurant early which was at West Mall Shopping Mall Level 2. There was a lot of people queuing up for a meal at the restaurant and since we reached early, I looked for the staff intending to tell them we reached early so can wait for the next available table for us to seat at.
To my disappointment, the staff told me that there are no tables at the moment and ask us to walk around till our appointment time at 7:30pm (What are they thinking of? We reached early cannot go in to have our meals early?) In the same time, my ex-colleagues are already started to queue for it and chat up along the way. We saw a few families being called in to dine in the restaurant. (Reservation lose to people queuing there?).
Even though I had left Swiber (My ex company) for nearly a year now, a few of our infrastructure team members (Some are working in other place too) are still gathering together for a meet up and to eat meals together to relax from our daily stressful lives. We had planned to meet up with each other on Sunday (3 March 3013) for dinner cum chatting session.
Since I returned home in the morning, I sleep through the day till it is time for me to meet up with them. We meeting each other at Jurong Point and decided to eat at one of the Hong Kong Restaurant named “Central Hong Kong Café” at level 3.
Right when we reached the entrance of the restaurant, there are quite a lot of people having their meals over there too but still there are still some empty tables so we are able to get a table without any issue. The tables are being placed quite near to each other but still able to let some slim people walk around the place especially the staff there serving dishes to the customers. We had no problem ordering from the menu which is a laminated A3 size paper.
It is Deepavali Day on Tuesday (13 November 2012) which means it is a public holiday in Singapore. Both Rachel and I plan to go out for a relaxing windows shopping and dining together for the day. Our first stop for lunch is decided to be over at Bugis for duck rice as recommended by one of her friends and the place is actually a stall inside a coffeeshop opposite of Bugis Junction.
When I saw the stall, I remembered that there should be other branch inside foodcourt (Other places) which looks something like this stall too. Anyway since it is a coffeeshop kind of stall, there are no air conditioning and it is all depends on whether it is very hot and humid during the time you are there.
This is a dessert stall which specialized in Blackballs which stated to provide the finest grass jelly dessert. Anyway, it is good as Singapore is a hot and humid country so eat grass jelly can cool our body down.
This place is located near Clementi MRT station in CityVibe Mall.
